The best time for couples to travel to Bali

For couples we recommend April–June or September–October. That’s when there’s little rain, good weather and fewer tourists than in the July–August peak season. Prices are lower too, which means you get more for your money – and more peace and quiet together. If you’re flexible on dates, April and September are the very best months for a romantic Bali holiday.

Our best tips for couples in Bali

Book a villa rather than a hotel – a private pool and terrace give you a completely different sense of intimacy. Combine at least two areas; Ubud and Uluwatu is the classic combination for couples. Add at least one island – Nusa Lembongan or the Gili Islands make a perfect finale. Book activities in advance, especially the bike tour, the jewellery workshop and the Lovina trip. And don’t plan too much – the best moments in Bali happen spontaneously.
